Having the correct information on your Google maps listing is key for your business, if you have incorrect information displayed you could potentially be losing customers every day.
If you notice that you have incorrect information on your maps listing it is more likely to be a Google maps error than a human one. Thankfully Google allow us to easily fix these issues with minimal effort.
Step 1. Find your map listing in Google search
The first thing that you need to do is actually find the map listing for your business. The simplest way to do this is to search your business’s name on Google. This should then Display your map listing on the right hand side of the search page.
Step 2. Editing the Information
To edit the information you need to click on to the map listing on the right hand side. You should now be taken to a map page that displays the company information that you wish to change.
Here you need to click the grey italic text at the bottom that says “Suggest an edit”.
This will now change the view of information and allow you to make any changes that you see fit.
As seen in the image below.
Step 3. Submitting
The next step is to click the submit button and you’re done. These changes will now be manually checked by a Google employee, this is done to check that any information that is updated is correct and is not trying to mislead potential customers.
Please be patient as these changes can take a number of weeks to get checked and approved.
Finally you will get an email confirmation of the edits that you have requested to be made.
Please note that this does not mean that your changes have been accepted but that Google will be reviewing them in the near future.
